Montréal Pride Festival invites organizations and companies to register for the activities of its twelfth edition

Montréal, March 15, 2018 — Montréal Pride Festival, which will hold its twelfth edition from August 9 to 19 2018, invites organizations and businesses to register before June 1, 2018 to take advantage of a reduced rate and confirm their commitment to the community of sexual and gender diversity. Proud of the success and total attendance of 2.7 million at the 2017 edition, the largest LGBTQ+ gathering of the entire French‑speaking world, presented by TD in collaboration with the Casino de Montréal, launched today its revamped website with a single form for both the parade and community day registration.

Registration

Registration of organizations and companies can be completed online as of now using this form to facilitate the process and available on the Pride Montreal website at fiertemontrealpride.com/en/the-festival/take-part/. Organizations and companies have until June 1 to take advantage of a reduced rate and until July 23, 2018 to send their registration in. For the second year in a row, Pride Montréal will be organizing a contest for LGBTQ+ non-profit organizations in Montréal whose annual budget is less than $ 100,000, to provide them with a banner and T-shirts with their logo for the parade, as well as 500 copies of their brochure or pamphlet for the community day. Contest details will be unveiled shortly.

Pride Parade’s Theme

Inspiration for the theme of the parade will, for a fifth year, be the rainbow flag and will highlight the color blue, symbol of serenity and harmony. “We invite all parade participants to wear this color and interpret its meaning in an original way: blue like the sky and the sea that open the horizons, like the water that unites us and embraces Montreal, or as the clear water unable to conceal anything!” said Éric Pineault, Founding President of Pride Montreal Festival.

Program

While the full program will be unveiled on June 19, 2018, the Montreal Pride Festival promises the return of several popular events but also the addition of a multitude of new activities. It should be noted that all the free outdoor shows will be presented this year at the Parc des Faubourgs. This new venue, located at the corner of De Lorimier and Ontario streets, was one of the hits of the 2017 edition. A few minutes from the Papineau metro station, this vast green space comfortably accommodates the larger crowds, to the delight of festival-goers.
